Deer, pig hunting applications sought for Cottonwood Creek, San Luis Reservoir

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is opening applications for a limited number of deer and pig hunting permits for the Upper and Lower Cottonwood Creek and San Luis Reservoir wildlife areas.

The one-day permit allows deer and pig hunting in one area on Aug. 12 or 13.

Reservations are needed to access the areas, with 30 permits being issued each day.

Up to three people can apply as one party. Junior license holders can also apply as long as they are accompanied by an adult license holder.

Applications will be accepted and received before 4:30 p.m. July 5. A computerized drawing, which is open to the public, will select reservation recipients at 11 a.m. July 6.

Recipients will be notified by mail within five days of the drawing.
