The Los Banos FFA Chapter had its monthly meeting Oct 7.
We discussed the success of our pork loin dinner. We sold 300 tickets and all proceeds went to help fund leadership activities.
The group participated in the cotton judging competition in Madera on Sept. 26. They did an outstanding job with team A placing fourth and team B placing fifth.
Brie Little was second high individual in the B contest. We talked about multiple events coming up like the chicken rigatoni dinner, national convention, place mat ads and project comp.
The Los Banos FFA attended the Charleston Fall Festival on Oct. 12. We helped work booths, sell tickets and food. It was a lot of fun and thank you to everyone who attended.
We had a Halloween Costume Contest at the meeting and the winners were Marque Sagouspe, who dressed up as a cheerleader, and Bianca Soares, who dressed up as a Basque dancer.
The Los Banos FFA competed at the annual opening and closing Ceremonies on Oct. 16. Los Banos took four teams of first-year members that competed very well. Three of the teams received a gold, and one received a silver. The Los Banos FFA officer team received a gold as well. A few members that competed earned Outstanding Officer awards. These students were: Michael Butler, outstanding secretary; Chris Silva, outstanding sentinel; Tristan Soares, outstanding reporter; Bailey Allen, outstanding vice president; Kiara Gilardi, outstanding president; Shae Falascho, outstanding reporter ; Jocelyn Alanis, outstanding president; and Issac Silveria, outstanding president.
