Police brief: DUI checkpoint

DUI checkpoint planned

The Los Banos Police Department will be conducting a DUI checkpoint Aug. 25 at an undisclosed location within the city limits between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. Officers will be checking drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment. Officers will also check drivers for proper licensing. Motorists who are caught driving impaired can expect jail time, license suspension and insurance increases, as well as fines, fees and mandatory DUI classes.
