Early returns show Lunney in lead for Merced County sheriff's race

With 72 percent of precincts reporting, the gap between Pat Lunney and Vern Warnke is closing, 34.2 percent to 32.7 percent of votes respectively. Frank Swiggart is third at 26 percent, while Jim Soria trails at 6.7 percent.

Tony Dossetti continues to lead the pack in the District 3 supervisors race at 38.7 percent. Daron McDaniel follows with 33.1 percent.

Incumbent Linn Davis has 20.5 percent, while William Snyder has 7.1 percent.

Karen Adams leads in the Treasurer Tax Collector race with 55 percent, compared to Richard St. Marie's 44 percent.

Measure M has 56 percent supporting, 43 percent against.
