With little information and what law enforcement calls an uncooperative victim at the center of its investigation, police are trying to find out what led to a man showing up at the local hospital with a gunshot wound.

Memorial Hospital, Los Banos, notified the Los Banos Police Department of a gunshot victim at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived at the hospital, they encountered a man, the 21-year-old with suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

Police said the man was uncooperative and would not provide details about the shooting.

The man was treated and released from the hospital.

“This shooting is still under investigation and detectives are considering all possibilities. We hope that anyone with information about this shooting will come forward and cooperate with detectives,” Cmdr. Jason Hedden said.
