Man arrested after evading code enforcement

April 4, 2014

A man who allegedly tried to evade a code enforcement citation was arrested by police Thursday.

Code enforcement has been trying to find Nicholas Leon, 19, of Los Banos for the past month to issue him a citation regarding a graffiti case at a park on the 700 block Fairmont Drive. Leon was spotted Thursday at 10 a.m. outside of his residence by Sgt. Jesse Ceja outside of his residence on the 1400 block of East B Street.

Police said Leon ran from the sergeant, who supervises code enforcement. Leon jumped fences and attempted to hide inside a residence on the 1400 block of Pintail Circle. Police discovered Leon's whereabouts and arrested him on suspicion of delaying or obstructing a police officer, vandalism, conspiracy to commit a crime and participation in a criminal street gang.
