Police: Man stabbed in robbery attempt

One man was stabbed during an attempted robbery over the weekend, police said.

The Los Banos Police Department responded to Memorial Hospital Los Banos regarding a stabbing at 8:03 p.m. Saturday, according to law enforcement.

Police found a male, 30, who had a small stab wound on his left forearm.

The man told authorities he was walking in the 900 block of J Street when he was approached by two males. He said one of them pulled out a knife and demanded his property, police said. The victim said he was stabbed once in the arm but was able to fight off his attackers. The attackers were last seen running east in the 900 block of J Street, police said. They are described as Hispanic males wearing red shirts.

The victim has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home from his injuries.
