Genealogical presentation

The Los Banos Genealogical Society will host a presentation on “Las Juntas: The Worst Town in the San Joaquin Valley, Home to My Family” by Sheila Harrell, a professional genealogist who has researched this town near Firebaugh to find out why there is no trace that it ever existed. The presentation is from 10 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Los Banos Genealogical Society Meeting Room, 16778 Place Road. For more information, call (209) 977-5747.

Feral Cat Day set

Los Banos Homeless Cats will be hosting the second annual Feral Cat Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Pacheco Park to celebrate National Feral Cat Day. The objective is to raise community awareness in Los Banos about the increasing need for help and control of the feral and stray cat population, as well as to educate the community on humane approaches. Donations of food and other supplies will also be accepted. Visit for more information.

The Los Banos Enterprise is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
