House fire extinguished

August 27, 2013

A house fire was brought under control quickly Tuesday by firefighters.

A fire occurred at a home on the 100 block of G Street shortly after 1 p.m. The family that lives at the residence was home at the time and made it out safely.

"It was a room and contents fire, mattress, clothing, bedding," Fire Chief Chet Guintini said Tuesday. "The attic space was converted into a bedroom. Everyone got out, we just have some cleanup to do."

Guintini said it is too early to determine the cause of the fire.

Two engines and a two command trucks responded to the scene.

The Los Banos Police Department helped with traffic control during the incident.
