Los Banos-area military briefs

A1C Jerry Warren Jr.

Airman First Class Jerry Warren Jr. graduated from basic training bootcamp at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas on June 7. Warren also passed training to become an Air Force pararescueman at the Fort Lee Army Base in Virginia on Aug. 2. He will report to Hurlburt Field Air Force Base in Florida Aug. 29.

Warren is a 2012 Dos Palos High School graduate and the son of Martha and Jerry Warren.

Pvt. Tomas Moreno

Army Pvt. Tomas Moreno has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Moreno is the son of Maria Moreno and stepson of Juan Morales, both of Los Banos. He is also the brother of Eduardo Moreno of San Jose.

He is a 2011 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, San Jose.
