The Merced County Fair kicks off next week with fun, food, entertainment and a salute to veterans.
With a theme of "Thank You, Veterans," the Merced event runs June 12-16 promising all the traditional expo-related fun including a Midway, livestock exhibits, competitive exhibits, free concerts on the outdoor stage, grandstand events and competitions, and plenty of fair food.
All concerts begin at 8:30 p.m.; the entertainment lineup:
June 12, Rhett Walker Band, Christian music
June 13, Pablo Cruise, classic rock hitmakers
June 14, Jason Michael Carroll, country
June 15, Evolution: The Ultimate Tribute to Journey
June 16, Korina Lopez, Latin music artist
Grandstand events begin at 7 p.m., except the June 16 rodeo and show, which begins at 4 p.m. Those events are:
June 12, auto races
June 13, tractor pull
June 14, Demolition Derby
June 15, Humpz & Hornz bull riding
June 16, Gran Jaripeo Y Variedad rodeo and variety show
Fair admission is $5, free age 5 and under. There's a separate $5 admission price to all grandstand events, except the June 16 rodeo, which costs $15 in advance, $20 at the door, free age 10 and under.
Fair hours are 5 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Wednesday-Friday;
