Many Los Banos area athletes on all-league teams

As the all-Western Athletic Conference teams have come trickling out at the end of spring, Los Banos and Pacheco have maintained a steady presence.

In the team sports, Pacheco infielder Kenneth Remulla (.308 average) was named first-team all-league in baseball center fielder Arianna Barton (.506 average, 36 stolen bases) was named to the softball first team.

A few other first-teamers included J.T. Barcellos and Clarke Monroe in tennis and Chris Corpuz in golf.

The biggest showing came from the Los Banos swim team (where winners at the league meet are named to the first team). LB had 17 first-teamers in swimming: Alexandra Marquez, Savannah Graham, Cecily Coronel, Mariah Gomez, Mayra Garcia, Bianca Soares, Mackenzie Hurley, Cheyenne Ritchey, Irene Duke, Jared Benitez, Jerome Vander Poel, Nathan Vander Poel, Samuel Vander Poel, Kyren DiMarzio, Anthony Machado, Markus Rico and Bradley Woolever.

Pacheco's swim team put three on the first team: Brian King, Elissa Martinez and Olivia Andrade.

The track championships work the same way, with winners earning first-team all league and second-place finishers earning second-team all league. LB's "K-Team" relay team of Keiloni Smith, Kayla Davis, Kristen Robertson and Kianna Tartt earned first-team honors with a win in the 4-by-100 relay, while Pacheco's Aaron Belasco (high jump), Austin Byrum (pole vault) and Gloria Kandeh (100-meter) were named to the first team as well.

Pacheco placed a few more on the track second team -- Johnny Lira (800), Ryan Salcido (3,200), Adam Perez (hurdles), the relay team of Miguel Cintora, Austin Luigard, Mark Joseph and Antonio Gomez, Paul Parks (triple jump), Emily Barajas (3,200) and Venus Canaveral (pole vault).

Los Banos didn't place anyone on the baseball or softball first team, but filled out the second team in both sports, with catcher Tyler Slayday, pitcher/infielder Cristian Garnica, right fielder Delvonte Moore and center fielder Corbin Lilledahl in baseball and Alexis Barcellos, Brianna Flores, Nicole Marchese and Taylor Harris in softball. Other second-teamers included LB's Jimmy Georgiou in golf, LB's Maria Garcia in soccer, Pacheco's Melinda Martinez in soccer.
