Concert and awards mark end of school year

Los Banos High School choir led by director Tom Faria presented a concert and awards night May 23 in the multi-purpose room at Los Banos High School.

In between awards being presented, choir members took turns singing songs to members of the audience.

The most prestigious award presented was the Los Banos High School Choir Award.  It is given to the senior who has demonstrated outstanding musicianship, leadership and citizenship in the choir program over numerous years of choir membership. This year it was given to Amanda Dominguez.

The Chamber Singers awards presented included: outstanding soprano, Kara-Leigh Helrick; outstanding alto, Katie Corpuz; outstanding tenor, Aysa Brown; outstanding bass, Jaime Sanchez; most improved, Anthony Garcia and most inspirational, Aubrey Stevenson.

The Los Banos High School Concert Choir awards presented included: outstanding male singer, Luke Hernandez; outstanding female singer, Alyssa Rodriguez; most improved, Ciara Emery; and outstanding musicianship, Britney Woolever.

Senior awards represent time of membership in the choral program from junior high through high school. Six consecutive years of choir membership, junior high through high school was presented to Amanda Dominguez. Five years in choir was presented to Michelle Wood; four years in choir was presented to Aysa Brown; three years in choir was presented to Kyle Chapman, Tracilyn Garcia, Zachary Wilson and Britney Woolever. Two years in choir was presented to Ciara Emery, Anthony Garcia and Caroline Loredo. One year in choir was presented to Ruben Reynoso, Lester Garcia, Daeton West, Ashley Berek, Yemni Gusman Gonzalez, Luke Hernandez, Danielle Jacob, Nuvia Romero, Steven Silveira and Vanessa Solis De La Paz.
