Playing against the section's best Division 4 golfers on a course they had never seen before, the Los Banos High golfers finished deep in the field after shooting 472.

Central Catholic won the tournament at Castle Oaks Golf Course in Ione, shooting 377 to qualify for the only team spot in the section tournament from Division 4. East Union (395), Vista del Lago (407), Oakdale (419) and Sonora (423) rounded out the top five. LB finished seventh.

In addition to Central, the tournament qualified three additional individual golfers -- Liberty Ranch's Matt Sterling, who carded a 69 on the par-72 course, Sonora's Billy Kiriluk, who tied him at 69, and East Union's Will Brink, who shot even par.

Senior Chris Corpuz led the Tigers with an 89, followed by Brandon Velez's 89. Nick Fischer (91), Scott Seto (103), Jimmy Georgiou (104) and Drake Cook (111) rounded out the Los Banos lineup. Los Banos qualified for the tournament by taking second in the Western Athletic Conference. Ceres was third, and finished last in the Division 4 tournament at 525 strokes.

Central will join 14 teams and 24 individuals for the master's tournament May 13 at the Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton.
