Police on Friday arrested two of three suspects on suspicion of attempted murder in an alleged gang-related shooting that took place Easter weekend, according to a news release.

Detectives arrested a 17-year-old female and Frank Daniel Martinez, 18, both of Los Banos, at a residence on the 800 block of Neal Court while serving a search warrant.

Authorities received information that the pair were involved in a March 29 shooting in the 1100 block of Pacheco. The shooting victim, a 17-year-old male, was wounded in the leg following an argument police said.

Three people fled the scene after the teen was shot. Cmdr. Ray Reyna Jr. said the police are searching for the third suspect, who is believed to be the only one of the three suspects outside the getaway car at the time of the shooting. Police said they have strong leads regarding the third suspect.

The 17-year-old and Martinez are being charged with attempted murder and participation in a criminal street gang.

Martinez is at the Los Banos Jail pending $1 million bail. The 17-year-old was taken to Merced County Juvenile Hall.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Justin Melden at (209) 827-7070, ext. 114.
