Police are looking for three people believed to be involved in a gang-related shooting last week.

The Los Banos Police Department responded to the 1100 Block of Pacheco Boulevard at 8:07 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of a shooting.

Officers found a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

Witnesses reported seeing two Hispanic males and one Hispanic female leaving the area in a gold sedan, police said. Officers said they found the vehicle abandoned a few blocks away from where the victim was shot.

No further description of the suspects was provided.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a Modesto area hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Law enforcement said the incident occurred because of a disagreement.

"We believe this incident was gang-related and began after a verbal argument between the suspects and the victim," Cmdr. Ray Reyna Jr. said. "There were several citizens in the area but thankfully none of them were injured."

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Justin Melden at (209) 827-7070, ext. 114, or leave a tip at the Police Department's web-page at www.losbanos.org. At the bottom of the "Contact" page, click on "report graffiti and other crime."
