A man wanted in connection with the stabbing of a shed owner earlier this week was taken into custody within 24 hours of the incident, police said.
The Los Banos Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing in the 2100 Block of East Pacheco Boulevard at 9:30 p.m. Monday.
Officers found a 27-year-old male suffering from stab wounds to his hands and face. The victim told police he was attacked by a man he alleged was in the process of stealing from his shed.
Police said the suspect was identified as Boyd Fipps, 32, of Los Banos. The suspect was not in the area when police arrived.
On Tuesday at 10:15 a.m., officer Bill Westbrook located Fipps in the 2200 block of Canal Farm Lane and placed him under arrest on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Fipps is in custody at the John Latorraca Correctional Facility, pending $30,000 bail.
The victim declined medical treatment.
