Los Banos FFA is off to a successful start in the annual spring judging teams, according to a press release.
Los Banos FFA competes among chapters all across the state of California for the chance to win state finals at California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo, in May.
"Judging teams are all focused around Career Development Events, which get students ready for careers in the agricultural industry through these contests," the release stated.
This year Los Banos FFA has four teams: dairy cattle judging, small engines, dairy products and best informed greenhand.
The first contest was at California State University at Chico March 16. All teams did well, and the small engines team placed second overall, the release stated.
Merced College was home to the second competition the same day. Dairy cattle judging placed third overall, with team member Caitlin Lopes placing second high individual. Small engines team placed fourth.
Saturday the four teams will travel to Modesto Junior College for the third competition.
