Dinner to help needy
Preceptor Xi Mu plans a corned beef and cabbage meal at the Elks Lodge, 565 E St., on Monday. Proceeds benefit needy families in the school district. Spring cleaning event
Allied Waste plans its spring cleanup from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 23 at the Los Banos Fairgrounds, 403 F St. No hazardous waste will be accepted. For more information, call Erik Limon at (209) 826-0231.
Concert, video on tap
Western and country singer-songwriter Terry Brown plans a concert and live taping at Oasis Community Center, 1005 I St., at 7 p.m. March 23. Tickets are $10 at the door; part of the proceeds go to Oasis Community Center.
Housing for laborers
Madera Housing Authority is offering permanent housing for households with at least one farm laborer, including retired or disabled farmworkers. To be eligible, the minimum income from farm labor is $5,753 and the designated "head-of-household" must have legal status. The rent for one of the 100 units, which come with two, three or four bedrooms, is based on family income. For an application, call (559) 674-5695, ext. 221, or visit the office at 205 N.
