FFA fundraiser a soaring success

By Kaitlyn Alanis / Los Banos FFA ReporterFebruary 22, 2013

The four Sweetheart candidates raised a record-breaking $37,000 during the Los Banos FFA's largest fundraiser.

Junior candidate Jenna Gilardi sold the most mylar balloons and was crowned the 2013 FFA Sweetheart. The money from the balloon sales helps fund leadership conferences, judging teams and many other FFA events.

Jenna competed against Emma Little, a freshman; Stacia Teicheira, a sophomore and Danika Rocha, a senior.

In addition, Jenna donated balloons to Valley Children's Hospital in Fresno. Her generous donation put a smile on many children's faces, and prompted many thank-you notes to the Los Banos FFA.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our fundraiser. Los Banos FFA is very appreciative. And thank you to Dean Marques for his donation of helium for the balloons, which made this fundraiser possible. Congratulations to Jenna , as well as our three other candidates, as the success of this fundraiser was because of you.
