The Los Banos girls basketball team will host San Juan from Citrus Heights in a playoff outbracket game Friday in the school’s main gym.

With Los Banos hosting the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 4 wrestling tournament Friday and Saturday, the LB girls’ normal gym will be filled with wrestling mats, allowing them to slide to the larger Tiger gym, where the LB boys normally play.

Los Banos holds a 12-14 record, and went 6-6 in the Western Athletic Conference to finish fourth after losing two of its last three, including a 50-44 loss to Livingston on Tuesday. The Tigers are the 15th seed in Division 4. San Juan has a 17-10 record and went 8-4 for third in the Sierra Delta League. The Spartans finished outside of the top 16 in Division 4, but made the outbracket game because of a new section rule that any team earning 15 wins gets added to the bracket.

Los Banos coach Danny Crosby said he doesn’t know much about San Juan.

“Not a thing. I’m hoping I can get some help from some of the teams they’ve played,” Crosby said. “I have some homework to do.” The Los Banos boys missed the playoffs, as did the Pacheco boys and girls teams.

LB’s 15th seed marks the 18th straight playoff berth for coach Danny Crosby, who spent most of his career at Le Grand.
