Arrest in weekend shooting

A Los Banos man is in custody after a weekend shooting, police said.

The Los Banos Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Ward Road after receiving a report of shots being fired Saturday at 2:04 p.m.

Cmdr. Ray Reyna Jr. said a 29-year-old male told police he was shot at by someone parked in a silver car while he was standing in front of his home.

Police discovered bullet holes in the home's garage. Shell casings were also located.

Reyna said detectives identified Stephen Garcia, 41, as a suspect in the incident.

Garcia was taken into custody after being spotted on Santa Venetia Street on Thursday morning.

He was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime causing great bodily injury. Garcia is at the Los Banos Jail pending $35,000 bond.
