LOS BANOS -- A segment of Badger Flat Road will be closed daily for much of February due to construction, according to a press release.

The Los Banos Public Works Department announced Badger Flat Road will be closed from Pacheco Boulevard to H Street beginning Tuesday and continuing through Feb. 28.

The road will be closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, except Sundays and holidays.

Detour signs will be posted, according to city staff, that will direct drivers from H Street to Second Street to West I Street enroute to Pacheco Boulevard.

School buses and Badger Flat residents will have access during street closure, city staff said.

Construction in the area will include underground utility installation, traffic signal work and a road rebuild, which includes curbs, gutters and new paving.

The northwest corner of Badger Flat Road and Pacheco Boulevard is slated for a 2,900-square-foot am-pm minimarket and a 3,900-square-foot McDonald’s. The project, which was approved by the Planning Commission in 2011, is slated for completion by May.

“Thank you and we appreciate your patience during the construction of this project,” the release stated.
