Rollover crash injures three outside Los Banos

LOS BANOS -- Three people were injured Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 5 near Los Banos, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Juan Manuel Cervantes-Baneles, 38, of San Jose was driving northbound on the highway just south of Highway 165, Officer Matt Pinheiro said.
The driver allowed the Chrysler PT Cruiser to drift left into the median around 3:40 p.m. and the vehicle overturned multiple times, before coming to rest on its roof.
Pinheiro said drugs and alcohol werent a factor and it was unclear why the car drifted. (Cervantes-Baneles) wasnt able to give a statement at the scene due to his injuries, Pinheiro said.
The driver was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries. Passengers Virginia Cervantes, 58, and Bryan Cervantes, 10, suffered minor injuries. The woman was taken to Memorial Hospital Los Banos and the boy was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
