Los Banos police investigating burglaries

The Los Banos Police Department is investigating a series of car burglaries at a towing company that resulted in the death of a dog.

Police responded to a report of a burglary at Steitz Towing Service in the 2900 block of East Pacheco Boulevard at 10:14 a.m. Police discovered the suspect gained entry through a fence surrounding the business and burglarized several cars.

Police said the suspect encountered two dogs, one was killed and the other was injured. Police declined to provide details about the injuries to the dogs.
