Applications being taken for May Day competition

The Miss May Day Pageant and Scholarship Competition is set to take place on March 23 at the Los Banos Fairgrounds.

Applications are now available at Pacheco and Los Banos high schools and at the fair office.

The deadline to turn in applications is 5 p.m. Dec. 11 at the fairgrounds. The number of contestants will be limited this year, so potential contestants should get their applications in early, according to organizers.

The winner of the 2013 Pageant will receive a scholarship of not less than $500 and will reign over the 2013 May Day Fair in Los Banos. The fair office is located at 403 F St. For more information, call Shantelle Andrews-Margason at (209) 604-4163.
