Salvation Army needs help
Salvation Army volunteers cooked a Thanksgiving meal last year and served about 250 of the poor, homeless and elderly at the Elk's Lodge.
The group also delivered 45 meals to shut-ins.
This year's community meal is scheduled for noon Nov. 17 at United Methodist Church, 1031 Iowa Ave.
To donate a turkey, call the office at (209) 827-4945.
The Salvation Army also is looking for bell ringers for the holiday season. Volunteers and individuals are needed for shifts from two hours to full days from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
For more information, call Tom Neeb at (209) 675-3801.
