FFA teams learn meeting protocol

By Kaitlyn Alanis / Los Banos FFA ReporterNovember 3, 2012

Los Banos FFA took four teams to the opening and closing ceremonies contest in Gustine last week.

This is the first public speaking contest FFA puts on each year to orient first-year members on what's expected of them.

In Gustine, teams of six learned speaking roles at the beginning and end of each meeting and banquet. The teams were then scored on memorization, poise, dignity and official dress. All three first-year teams as well as the current officer team earned the Gold Award; 10 members earned an Outstanding Officer Award. The results are: outstanding presidents, Gabby Rodriguez and Madison Hatfield; vice president, Alex Marquez; secretaries, Caitlin Lopes and Jillian Beltran; treasurers, Vinny Greco and Emma Little; reporters, Payton Brazil and Paige Menezes; and sentinel, Mariah Gomes.

The Los Banos Enterprise is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news.
