Jeanne Schechter being sworn in

October 20, 2012

Jeanne Schechter, the new commissioner for the Merced County Superior Court, is scheduled to be sworn in at 4 p.m. today in the Board of Supervisors chambers.

Schechter will be the second woman sitting on the Merced County Superior Court and one of two commissioners. She's worked in the Merced city attorney's office since 2006, overseeing all litigation, including workers' compensation, managing outside counsel and acting as liaison between the city, outside counsel and the city's risk management authority, according to a news release from Romero Soles.

Schechter will receive an annual salary of $151,970.52.

The Board of Supervisors chambers is in the county administration building, 2222 M St. in Merced.
