Los Banos FFA club attended its first cotton-judging competition of the season last week.

"We had 14 members attend the contest in Madera, and we came home with lots of team and individual awards," according to a news release on the Sept. 20 competition.

In cotton judging, contestants are scored in a variety of subjects. Contestants are given a test on general cotton knowledge, and then they go through and judge different parts of cotton. At this contest, members were given two classes of cotton seeds, cotton lint and cotton bolls.

The A team had members Kaitlyn Alanis, Savannah Del Franco, Rose Palmer and Madison Breinig.

The B teams were made up of Samantha Cardosa, Breanna Nunes, Hollie Hudson, Jordan Fisher, Madison Hatfield, Chloe Del Franco, Anabella Del Franco, Cecily Coronel, Sarah Cardosa and Kelsey Biggs.

"All the teams did a great job," according to the release.
