Sports briefs: K of C soccer challenge set
Knights of Columbus Los Banos Council No. 3726 will host a youth soccer challenge from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 6 at Oliveira park following the conclusion of youth soccer games that day.
The challenge is sponsored annually, with winner progressing through local, district and state competitions.
All boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. Entry forms will be available on the day of the event at the soccer games or prior at the Los Banos Community Center.

Free golf offered

Eagle Field hot rods
The fourth annual Eagle Field Hot Rod Gathering is scheduled for Oct. 6. Drag races will include gassers, hot rods, dragsters, muscle cars, mini bikes and more.
General admission is $15 (kids 13 and younger free) and car/driver entry is $40. Gates open at 7 a.m., and racing starts at noon. Free camping is available.
