CAST seeks kids, help

September 14, 2012

Catch A Special Thrill for Kids, or CAST for Kids, a day of fishing and outdoor entertainment for 7- to 14-year-olds with disabilities, is taking registration through Sept. 28. There are a limited number of spots available, and reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. The CAST event is planned Oct. 27 at the O'Neill Forebay. The California departments of Water Resources, Fish and Game, Parks and Recreation, Cal Fire and Boating and Waterways put the events on along with the State Water Project. There is no monetary expense incurred by children, boaters or any volunteers involved in the event. Entry and inspection fees will be waived, according to organizers.

For more on the event, go to www.castforkids.org, or contact David Lara at (559) 230-3349 or Paul Young at (916) 376-1923.
