Council meeting canceled because of lack of quorum
STAFF REPORTS
The regular Los Banos City Council meeting scheduled this week was canceled due to a lack of a quorum.
City Clerk Lucy Mallonee announced Wednesday just after noon that the meeting planned that night was canceled.
Mayor Mike Villata and Councilman Scott Silveira are in San Diego attending the League of California Cities conference, and thus unable to attend. Mallonee said Councilman Tom Faria said he also would be absent. That meant only Joe Sousa and Elizabeth Stonegrove would have been in attendance. The number of council members required to vote on an item, or a quorum, is three, according to the city's municipal code.
The meeting's agenda called for a consent vote on nine items, one public notice report and a council member agenda request.
Mallonee said all of the items would be rolled into the City Council's next planned meeting on Sept. 19.
