Police on Monday arrested a suspect wanted for a May carjacking.
At 11:45 a.m. the Los Banos Police Department responded to the 700 Block of Polcetto Court after receiving information that Mitchell Garibaldi was at a residence in the area. Garibaldi, 19, was wanted for allegedly being involved in a May 27 carjacking on the 1000 block of Santa Lea Street.
When officers arrived at the Polcetto Court residence on Monday, they discovered Garibaldi ran from the residence into a nearby backyard. Officers located Garibaldi hiding in a neighbors residence, police said.
Garibaldi was arrested on suspicion of carjacking, resisting arrest, and participation in a criminal street gang.
Garibaldi is being held at the Los Banos Jail pending $750,000 bail.
