Manna Ministries offers meal at United Methodist Church

• Manna Ministries provides a free meal and fellowship every Sunday at 5 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 1301 Iowa Ave. in Los Banos. The day starts off with a short spiritual followed by a hot meal. For more information, call Claire Jensen at (209) 826-4642 or the church office at (209) 826-4181.

Library happenings

• Library hours:

Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.;

Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.;

Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.;

Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.;

and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Library is closed Sunday and Monday.

Freedom Fund Banquet set

• The Los Banos, Dos Palos, Gustine NAACP Branch 12AA is hosting its Second Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Aug. 2, at the Ramada Inn De Oro Conference Center in Santa Nella starting at 5:30 p.m.

Our keynote Speaker will be John T. Fleming publisher, consultant, writer and speaker, entrepreneur. Since retiring from Avon Products Inc. as vice president U.S. sales strategies and training, Fleming has founded Ideals and Design Group, a consulting organization focused on business solutions/real estate investments and development and, Black Education Events LLC, producer of historically black college/university events such as the Angel City Classic on the west coast. He is also the publisher/editor in chief of direct selling news, the most notable trade publication for the direct selling industry and writes for other publications focused on direct selling/network marketing. Fleming is also the author of "The One Course" a course recently released which focuses on what might be missing in the traditional educational process.
