Los Banos police are investigating whether two shootings during the weekend are related.

Police responded to Memorial Hospital, Los Banos at 4:01 a.m. Saturday after being notified of a shooting victim.

Officers spoke with a 30-year-old man who reported being shot in the upper torso while in front of a residence in the 300 Block of North Street. At the North Street address, they found blood and other evidence of a shooting. Police said the victim was unhelpful in providing details about the shooting or a description of the suspect.

The victim was airlifted to a Modesto area hospital. He is reported in stable condition.

On Sunday at 2:13 a.m. the Los Banos Police Department responded to the 1100 block of D Street for a report of a second shooting. Officers found a 28-year-old male suffering from two gunshot wounds to the arm and leg.

A witness told police a thin male wearing a hooded sweatshirt and shorts approached the victim and the two started arguing. During the argument, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot at the victim several times, police said.

The victim was transported to a Modesto area hospital. He is reported in stable condition.

"At this point, we are still trying to determine if the two shootings over the weekend are related," Cmdr. Ray Reyna Jr. said.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact Detective Eduardo Solis at (209) 827-7070, ext. 137.
