Pascual Mendivil: News of note from Chávez group
The César Chávez Committee (CCC) wishes to make public a couple of library notes vis-á-vis our group. First, to correct an error that appeared in the Enterprise; we state that it was the CCC that brought to Los Baños the great poet Francisco Alarcón.
Secondly, we wish to inform the public of our initial donation of books to our public library. These books are currently in our library, waiting to be checked out: "César Chávez and the Common Sense of Nonviolence" (Orosco); "New and Collected Poems" (Alarcón); two books from the "Circuit" series in Spanish (Jimenez); and "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" (Freire).
Thirdly, the CCC is looking for musicians, especially a violinist, to play for the kids of Lectura Para Niños, Saturdays at 10 a.m. at our library. We will pay musicians $20 for one or two songs.
Finally, the CCC wishes to stage a nonprofit community production of the play "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder. Anyone wanting to play music for the library kids or participate in the play, please send a note to CCC, 1718 San Ramon Lane, Los Banos 93635.

Editor's Note: John Spevak's Oct. 28 column, which mentioned Francisco Alarcón's appearance at the Los Banos Library, should have been attributed to the César Chávez Committee.
