Jon Grissom: Help the NAACP make a difference
Thank you for joining us at the NAACP Unit 12AA's fourth annual Freedom Fund Banquet, celebrating 101 years in the fight for equality. This year's theme, "With Liberty and Justice for All," reminds us that our fight is blind to color, race or ethnic origin. Our fight is to ensure that all people are treated with the same civil liberties and justice across our great nation, and to guarantee that all mankind is afforded equal opportunity in all aspects of living.
Founded in February 1909, the NAACP is the nation's oldest, largest and most widely recognized grassroots-based civil rights organization. Over a half-million members and supporters like you, throughout the United States and across the globe, are the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities, conducting voter mobilization and monitoring equal opportunity in the public and private sectors.
With the generous support of people like you, we are able to ensure that the movement that has grown across several generations continues to thrive for generations to come.
A special thank you to each individual, business and other organizations that made this year's banquet a success. To all our contributors -- speakers, sponsors, city leaders, construction crews and every person in between, we thank you for your time and diligent efforts; we could not have done it without you. If you wish to become a member of our unit, please visit our website at http://justice12aa.com/.
We look forward to your participation in this unit as a member. Just one more can make a difference.
