Teen stabbing victim hospitalized in stable condition

Fight occurred last Friday near C Street

Last Friday a teen was stabbed while in a fight, and police are searching for the suspect, who is believed to be another minor.

Cmdr. Ray Reyna Jr. said at approximately 2:20 p.m. police responded to the area of Seventh and C streets to investigate a report of a large fight.

When Officers arrived, a vehicle leaving the scene was stopped and a 17-year-old male was found inside the car with a six- to seven-inch stab wound, Reyna said.

The male reported that he was stabbed by another juvenile during a fight.

The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital Los Banos and is reportedly in stable condition.

The suspect in this case has not been located, police said. Law enforcement has not provided a description of the juvenile believed to have committed the assault.

Reyna said police do not believe the incident was gang-related.
