Los Banos had its second homicide of the year Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Chief Gary Brizzee said at 2:37 p.m. officers went to a home on the 800 block of Auction Drive in response to a request for a welfare check. A deceased female was discovered upon officers’ arrival at the location, which is a gated community known as the Four Seasons.
Brizzee declined to state the cause of the woman’s death.
“From what we gather it’s a family-related incident. To be honest with you, it sounds like it’s a very in-depth story I’m not sure we have a handle on just yet,” he said. “There’s a lot involved in this story that we just don’t know. I feel it would be inappropriate to say anything else.”
On June 29 Los Banos had its first homicide of the year. In that incident Jorge Luis Zamora, 54, was killed in his apartment on I Street. Brizzee said the Zamora killing and Tuesday’s homicide are not related.
The police department urges anyone with information regarding this incident to contact law enforcement at (209) 827-7070.
