The Los Baños High boys varsity golf team will have to get used to scoring without Bobby Park in 2010.

Tiger senior Mark Nocito will be expected to step up and fulfill the No. 1 slot.

Nocito is a four-year varsity golfer who is carrying the team's low-score thus far.

On Tuesday, the Tigers lost against Merril F. West High of Tracy, 249-259.

The previous Tuesday, Los Baños defeated Kimbal High of Tracy, 261-317.

Nocito carded a 41 during Tuesday's loss, which is right about where head coach Dustin Caropreso expects him to be at.

"Nocito is a four-year starter. He'll be the ace in the hole," Caropreso said. "Mark has been around the high 30s, low 40s.

"We want him to stay in the 36-40 range throughout the year."

Dalton DeGrace is a returning junior who should play out of the No. 2 slot. Dylan Conway is a senior and a second-year golfer.

Turlock is the favorite to win the CCC, considering it has Travis Souza, Eric Wetzel and Paul Smith back.

LB opened up CCC play on Thursday in Atwater against Buhach Colony.

On Tuesday, the Tigers will be at home to play against Golden Valley High of Merced at 3 p.m.
