The Los Baños High girls frosh-soph soccer team looked like it could be contender in the Central California Conference this season.
On Wednesday, the frosh-soph Tigers improved to 1-0-1 following a 3-0 victory over visiting Mariposa High.
"We started with a few mistakes, but during the second half we had more passing and communication going on," Los Baños head frosh-soph coach Daniel Elizalde said. "For the second game of the season, we're off to a good start."
Anissa Reyes made four clutch saves in the goal for Los Baños, which opened its season last week with a tie against the Hilmar Yellowjackets.
Although this contest was tied at 0-0 after the first 40 minutes, Los Baños broke it open during the second half.
In the 62nd minute, freshman forward Lauren Neves found the back of the net after the Tigers were threatening offensively.
Nancy Barboza made it 2-0 immediately following Neves' goal.
Mariah Barajas made it 3-0 with a goal in the final moments of the ball game.
The Los Baños frosh-soph squad will be in action today at home against Livingston High.
On Monday, LB will have a ball game on the road against Orestimba High of Newman starting at 3:30 p.m.
