Girls varsity hoops ends with loss
ENTERPRISE STAFF REPORT
TURLOCK -- The Los Baños High girls varsity basketball team couldn't quite finish off the 2009-10 season with a win on Feb. 18 on the road against Pitman High of Turlock.
The Tigers came up on the short end of a 49-35 Central California Conference defeat.
Pitman, which competed in the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs this past week, opened up the CCC finale against LB on a 22-8 run and never looked back.
Los Baños' defense played tight for the rest of the game and held Pitman to 10 points or fewer in the final three quarters.
Jasmine Washington led the Pride with 26 points.
Sophomore Brianna Harden led the Tigers with 13 points.
Los Baños went 4 of 13 from the free-throw line, which didn't help its cause.
"We had a very young team this year and they learned a lot about varsity basketball," Los Baños head coach Mike Perkins said.
