The Los Ba&#241;os High boys sophomore basketball team took it to Merced High on Wednesday.</p><p>Tramane Moore and Kyle Quint combined for 36 points during a 77-60 Central California Conference victory.</p><p>The Tigers improved to 2-9 in the CCC, which was their second straight win after starting league 0-9.</p><p>"Better late than never," Los Ba&#241;os head sophomore coach Greg Soliz said. "The kids came out ready to play on (Wednesday), and I'll attribute that to our defense.</p><p>"As a team, this was our best overall game of the year."</p><p>Los Ba&#241;os took a 25-point lead into the fourth quarter and was never threatened.</p><p>After the first quarter, LB led 22-10 thanks to a big quarter from Quint.</p><p>"We got off quick," Soliz said. "We looked inside to Kyle (Quint), and he got some key rebounds and putbacks. That's how we got the lead.</p><p>"(Moore) played an all-around game. He ran the offense and took care of the ball. He controlled the game and did a great job looking to score."</p><p>Quint made it a 26-point game in the fourth quarter after scoring off an assist from Trent Taylor.</p><p>Javier Garcia, Dylan Soares and Moore scored the rest of the Tigers' points in the final eight minutes.</p><p>Quint finished with 17 points and Moore had 19.</p><p>Taylor tallied up 10 points and Soares finished with 8.</p><p>Garrett Guilford finished with 9 points (three 3s).</p><p>At the boys freshman level, Los Ba&#241;os suffered a 64-18 CCC loss and fell to 1-10 in the conference.</p><p>Daeton West finished with 9 points and Tarron Blockmon tallied 6.</p><p>The Los Ba&#241;os boys sophomore and freshman teams will wrap up CCC tonight against Pitman High of Turlock.</p><p><i>To contact John-Joel Griffiths, e-mail jgriffiths@losbanosenterprise.com or call 826-3831 ext. 565.</i>
