Community briefs: Skate Day, prayers for council, Tea Party meeting, Relay for Life

Skate day at New Beginnings

New Beginnings Church in Los Baños is offering a day of concerts and skating. "The Revoluation" is a first-time event held at the church beginning at 2 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes viewing of the six to eight bands scheduled to perform throughout the day and access to the skate facility. Partnering with Impulse skate shop, the church was welcoming the entire community to the event.

Prayers for council

The monthly prayer meeting at City Hall will be held Jan. 7 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the facility in the council chambers. Everyone is welcome to attend and pray for Los Baños' leaders. For more information contact Brenda Smith at 827-0797.

Tea Party meeting set

There is a Los Baños Tea Party Meeting scheduled for Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. at Ryan's Place Restaurant. The Tea Party organization promotes conservative positions among the elected officials. It is not political party specific. Any interested citizen is welcome.

Relay for Life

American Cancer Society's Relay For Life Los Baños committee will be having a committee meeting and team member meeting Jan. 14 at the United Methodist Church at 1031 Iowa Ave. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the team member meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Anyone that is interested in joining the fun can register at www.RelayForLife.org/LosBanosca.
