Mile High Karate holds a belt promotion ceremony

Mile High Karate of Los Baños held its belt promotion ceremony Saturday afternoon and honored several students who passed their test.

Natalia Villigrana, 5, was promoted to advanced white.

Jeremiah Chavarria, 4, was promoted to advanced yellow.

Priscilla Glase, 7, was promoted to advanced orange, while Katrina Chavarria, 8, was promoted to advanced purple. Andrea Pineda, 12, was also promoted to advanced purple.

Israel Valdez, 13, was promoted to orange, while Alex Stockdale was promoted to a blue belt.

Jaylene and Ronald Lapreda got promoted to yellow. Kelly Brier was also promoted to yellow, and Marisol Valdez was promoted to orange.

"All of the students practiced really hard, and it truly showed during their performance on their test," said Manuel Chavarria, the owner and director of Mile High Karate. "They all passed with honors, and the beauty of American Kenpo Karate truly reflected off every student.

"The black belt instructors were very proud to promote all the individuals who tested."
