Athlete of the Week for June 29- July 3: Jesse Cortez

LITTLE LEAGUE

Jesse Cortez of the Los Baños National 11-year old All-Star team pitched 8 2/3 innings of shutout baseball Wednesday night against the Madera American All-Stars at Colorado Park. Los Baños National won the game 1-0 and now has a seat in Monday's District 10 all-star semifinal. Cortez also had the game-winning RBI in the top of the 10th inning that scored Tyler Wilson, and he made the routine play to get the final out of the contest. Los Baños will play against Turlock National's 11-year olds for a trip to the district championship.
