Resident claims he was assaulted

A police report was filed following Wednesday night's City Council meeting in which a Los Baños resident claims to have been assaulted by an employee of the Los Baños Enterprise.

Local resident Eugene Forte, publisher of the Badger Flat Gazette, alleges in the report he was assaulted by Enterprise reporter Corey Pride as he attempted to interview Pride inside the council chamber following the Wednesday meeting.

Pride was not arrested but was interviewed by police Thursday morning at the Los Baños police station.

Police officials said the report will be forwarded to the Merced County District Attorney's Office once it is completed.

Pride has been employed by the Enterprise since November, 2004.
