SPORTS BRIEFS</p><p>Los Ba&#241;os High School Athletic Director Gary Caropreso is looking for players of the 1988 Los Ba&#241;os High School football Section Championship team. Athletes interested in being recognized for their season should send their home address to Gary Caropreso at gcaropreso@losbanosusd.k12.ca.us to receive a personal letter with attached information.</p><p><b>Wildcats Football</b></p><p>Los Ba&#241;os' Wildcats Football program is still accepting player registration for the rookie (ages 7-8) and varsity (ages 12-14) divisions. For rookie registration, contact Junior Foley at 675-6631, and for varsity registration contact Jose Castro at 826-5892.</p><p><b>Youth volleyball clinic</b></p><p>The Los Ba&#241;os High School girls' volleyball team will be hosting a volleyball clinic at the high school for girls ages 9-14.</p><p>Session one, for ages 9-11, will run July 22 and 23 from 4-6 p.m. Session two will be held July 24 and 25 for girls ages 12-14.</p><p>There is a $35 registration fee that includes the clinic, as well as a camp T-shirt. Campers can register on the day of the clinic.</p><p>For more information contact Greg Soliz at 675-8827.</p><p><b>Sam Cook Memorial Softball Tournament</b></p><p>The 5th annual Sam Cook Memorial Tournament and Homerun Derby is set for July 25 and 26 at the Ag Complex in Los Ba&#241;os. Sign-ups begin at 5 p.m. for the Homerun Derby on July 25; start time is 6:30 p.m. Cost is $20 per person.</p><p>The softball tournament is scheduled for July 26 for the first 12 teams to sign up by July 21. Cost is $225 per team of 12 players. In addition to the team prizes for all 12 placements, there will also be raffle prizes and tri-tip and drinks sold at the tournament.</p><p>A portion of this year's proceeds will be given to the Los Ba&#241;os High School scholarship fund that has been set up in Sam Cook's name. For more information, contact Paul Arambel at 769-7631.</p><p><b>Sports Physicals</b></p><p>Physicals for the 2008 season will take place for Los Ba&#241;os High School students only at the Golden Valley Health Center and Pinnacle Health Center in July. Golden Valley Health Center can be reached at 826-1045; Pinnacle Health Center can be reached at 829-0444. Physicals are performed by appointment only. Physicals are due by August 8.</p><p><b>Youth football registration</b></p><p>Gustine Youth Football is accepting boys and girls from the ages of 7-14. Registration is $145 and practice starts on Aug. 4. Sign ups are at Perry's Pizza, downtown Gustine, on Thursdays and Fridays from 6-8 p.m. during the month of July.
