4-H camp was way more than I expected. Although it was my first time being so far away, I had a great time. We were supposed to go to Camp Pacifica in Ahwanee, but because of the smoke from the fires, we went back to Camp Sylvester in Pinecrest.

There were different themes for each day, such as space day, mis-match day, hippie day, beach day and of course 4-H pride day. Everyone dressed accordingly for each day. We made tie-dye shirts for hippie day. The secret was to draw designs with a Sharpie and pour rubbing alcohol on the designs.

There was so much to do each scheduled day. We sang songs and learned skits. I even rode in a canoe. The food was fabulous but making new friends was the best.

I would like to thank all the counselors and adult volunteers and 4-H for giving me the opportunity to go to camp.

OLF will have its first meeting on Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph's Parish Hall. Please join us and see what 4-H is all about. You will love it like I do.
